American Education

The Internet has reshaped American education and the way children learn.  The “No Child Left Behind Act” has led the way for high tech learning to find its way in the classrooms across the American nation.  Since the Internet has found its home in media centers children and teachers have seen many changes in the way schools operate.

It is a fact that Internet technology has left its mark on society and that the future is led by the technological revolution.  For children to be adequately prepared for the future they will have to be well trained, comfortable, and familiar with Internet technology and computers in general.

Since American education has embraced the Internet, school districts have been implementing creative and innovative strategies for assisting children who are in danger of dropping out of school to continue with their education.  One area where the Internet has played a significant role is in the area of public school education at home.  In the past, American education has seen a significant rate of high school drop outs, but this problem is being faced with new methods and plans.  Allowing high school students the ability to finish their education from home while working with their teachers through the Internet has had positive success.  Many teens that are at high risk for dropping out may include teen parents or those who have been having trouble with their family lives.  Some teens find it necessary to work and the balance between work and school may eventually lead the teen to drop out of school.  Many grants and initiatives have been given to various school districts to implement the Internet for the use of public school education at home and have met with great success.

Children as young as Pre K have experienced computers and Internet technology in their school’s media centers.  Elementary school students are being exposed to the Internet and the advantages that computers offer in the learning environment.  As American education continues to embrace technology and the power of the Internet, we will continue to see American students gain in leaps and strides in their achievement.
