As the United States began emerging as an industrialized nation, companies began to look at scientific means of managing a business. While business administration was considered the ability to administer many aspects of a business, those with a master’s degrees in business administration began to look into other approaches to manage a business.

Business administration and MBA courses are usually closely combined. Business Administration teaches how to run a business while someone with an MBA learns how to merge management practices with the work force. According to articles published by the Executive MBA Council, the number of participants in executive business administration and MBA classes is rising and shared by executives across a wide spectrum of industries.

Those enrolled in business administration and MBA courses learn and share a variety of things including economics, operations management, supply chain management and others. Specialized teachings marketing management and organizational behavior, among others, are also available.

Recent article in Business Week Magazine centered on the experiences of recent business school graduates and others just entering MBA classes after completing their undergraduate studies. Many of the graduates spoke of their two years in school as not being long enough, still pondering points born through the hours of philosophical discussion.

The common goal was to be able to put all they learned during business administration and MBA classes to practical use. Hoping their master’s in business administration may someday help them determine new, groundbreaking theories to benefit the business world.

Creative thinking and project planning are part of business administration and MBA classes, which help students in planning for unknowns and intangibles when planning the future of a business. While business administration degrees may help write a business plan, working through the “what if” theories as learned during an MBA program, will help ensure successful execution and completion of that plan.
