Preschool Lesson Plans
Parents of preschooler may be surprised to find that many teachers use preschool lesson plans. A lesson plan is an outline of what the teacher is going to cover. It helps the teacher concentrate on what concepts he or she wants the students to learn, what technology can help the students learn, and how he or she will test their knowledge among other things. Preschool lesson plans help the teachers keep on track with lessons and helps them make sure the students are learning.
This may not seem important in preschool, but preschool children are at an age where they are developing many skills. Preschoolers who work on social, hygiene, and language skills will be better prepared for kindergarten than those that have not.
Preschool lesson plans should be created on a computer with just the outline of topics you want to cover. Save that document as a template. When you can to create a lesson plan, open that template, make changes, and save it under a different title. Also, be sure to attach all your worksheets and handouts to your preschool lesson plans so you will have everything you need for each session. Many teachers share their preschool lesson plans among themselves so they can get ideas of what other teachers are teaching. If you attend any teacher conferences, be sure to take some samples of your lesson plans to share!
