Learning how to type correctly is crucial. If you learn how to type wrong, it is very hard to “unlearn” your old way of typing and adapt the proper typing technique. You should find a good program and take typing lessons if you are stumbling around on the keyboard. If you do not, eventually your fumbling will develop into its own little habit and it will hamper your typing ability in the long run. Start typing lessons as soon as possible.

Once an individual learns how to type it is something that sticks with them. This is good news for someone who learned how to type properly with their fingers in the correct position. This is bad news for someone who has developed their own typing method. However, even this can be corrected if the individual is willing to put in the time and practice needed to relearn the proper typing skills.
