Writing Programs
Whether a news reporter, a professional author or simply an occasional letter writer, writing programs can make your finished product even better. Many exist and focus strictly on the art of putting words together in an interesting and intelligent manner.
Each of the available writing programs offer many things, the importance of each and how it applies, can only be determined by the individual writer. Questions about specific writing programs can prompt numerous questions the writer must answer to make a valid decision.
Making pictures come to life through words is the hope of every writer, and depending on the genre they plan to specialize in plays a key role in determining where to study. Many ask themselves under which author they would most like to study. D.W. Fenza, executive director of the Association of Writers and Writing Programs explains that no big-name college degree is going to make someone a better writer.
What some writing programs fail to help students understand is the ability to write so readers can understand dialog. Many teach proper spelling and grammar and writers fail to realize their readership may not feel the same need. Especially in dialog, perfect grammar is not a reality. The sentence structure should by written as real people would talk. This often is misguided and the readers will forget that it’s meant to be a real person talking.
Writing programs can help determine which era of writing to study to match the genre in which they plan to specialize. Without this type of learning a write could express his thought in historically inaccurate measure.
